Germany wins World Cup

For the fourth time, and first time since 1990, Germany has won the FIFA World Cup. Mario Gotze scored in the 112th minute to give the German side a 1-0 win in extra time in Sunday’s tournament final against Argentina.

Argentina’s Lionel Messi had an opportunity to force penalty kicks but his free kick in the 120th minute was high, giving the Germans the victory.
