The Soo Greyhounds return home for game six in their Western Conference quarter-final series in a familiar position, trailing in the series.

After dropping the opening two games of the series, the Greyhounds returned home to win games three and four on home ice and they will need another home-ice win to extend the series. The Greyhounds dropped a 5-3 decision in Owen Sound on Friday night to fall behind 3-2 in the series.

Daniel Catenacci gave the Attack a 2-0 lead early in the game with goals 1:34 apart to open the scoring early in the first period/. Michael Schumacher cut into the lead for the Greyhounds just past the midway point of the opening frame to make the score 2-1 heading into the first intermission.

Just under five minutes into the second period, Ryan Sproul scored a power play marker to tie the game at two. Gemel Smith of the Attack and Sergey Tolchinsky of the Greyhounds traded goals before goals by Gilbert Gabor and Smith gave the Attack a 5-3 lead through two periods.

The Greyhounds couldn’t crack Attack starter Jordan Binnington again and now return home to a must-win situation.

Binnington stopped 24 shots for the Attack in the win. At the other end, Matt Murray stopped 35 shots for the Greyhounds.

Game six is set for Sunday at the Essar Centre. Puck drop is 7:07 p.m.
