Tenants treated for smoke inhalation in apartment fire

************************* Apartment fire

On November 14 at approximately 11 p.m., Fire Services responded to a fire alarm activation at 588 Albert Street West.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered heavy smoke from a second floor apartment and a lone tenant attempting to extinguish the fire.

As a result, the individual was transported to Sault Area Hospital and was treated for smoke inhalation.

Due to heavy smoke within the corridor, a second tenant was treated for smoke inhalation.

The apartment sustained moderate thermal and smoke damage throughout.

This fire is currently under investigation by Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services.
