NEWS RELEASE

LAKE SUPERIOR STATE UNIVERSITY

************************* SAULT STE, MARIE, MI: NEW CITY HALL - Sault, ON native Lou Lukenda, left, helps mayor-elect Tony Bosbous and city commissioners unveil a plaque dedicating the new Sault Ste. Marie, MI city hall.

The November 14 opening caps a four-year, $3.9 million renovation that locates municipal offices right on the St. Marys River and in the heart of the city's historic district.

The building was opened for federal offices in 1910 and was headquarters for the Tendercare (Michigan) health care company between 1987 and 2007.

It also housed the River of History Museum, now located in the Sault Tribal Building on Ashmun Street, for 15 years beginning in 1992.

Tendercare founder, chairman and CEO, Lukenda offered the building as a gift to the city in 2007.
