Beautiful, charming, funny and extremely talented, Canadian songstress Chantal Kreviazuk delighted a sold out crowd Saturday night during the kick-off performance for the 39th annual Algoma Fall Festival.

The two-time Juno Award-winning artist left the audience in stitches as she joked about the size of the piano provided for her and life on the road with young children in tow.

As a special treat, Kreviazuk performed I'm Here (A Song for Canada) which she had previewed at Toronto's Massey Hall the evening before as part of this year's Canada Walk of Fame celebration - the same celebration that saw Sault Ste. Marie's own Dr. Roberta Bondar honoured as an inductee.

Global and Slice will air the induction ceremony on October 23.

The Algoma Fall Festival continues throughout the month of October with appearances by Jesse Cook on the 18th, Ashley MacIsaac on the 22nd and Stuart McLean on the 23rd.
