Sault Ste. Marie’s Finance Committee met on Saturday morning, hoping to hear some public input as the city budget
Attendance for the meeting was limited with just one person bringing up some concerns, specifically the purchase of new traffic lights for intersections.
The cost efficiency concern was that new lights being put in place could easily be replaced by existing ones that would save the city a considerable amount of money on their budget.
The city is in the process of performing a traffic study at the intersection of Black Rd and Second Line, in order to decide whether a traffic light is feasible at the intersection, which helps connect the highway east and west of the city.
The committee plans to meet again on Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Russ Ramsay board room at City Hall.
They also welcome emails from citizens who can’t make the meeting but would still like to voice their opinions on the budget.
