Convicted serial killer, Clifford Olson, died today in a Quebec hospital after a brief battle with cancer.

Olson, the self-proclaimed Beast of B.C., was sentenced to life in prison in 1982 after he plead guilty to sexually assaulting, torturing and murdering 11 British Columbia youth between the ages of nine and 18 years.

The controversial case caused mass outrage when, as part of the plea bargain, Olson was paid $100,000 to lead officials to the remains of his victims.
