****************************** Sale of PUC Telecom Inc. assets to Ontera

PUC Telecom Inc. and Ontera have been jointly providing telecommunication services to Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District since 2001.

PUC Telecom provides the fibre optic network within the City of Sault Ste. Marie and Ontera provides connections to locations within the Algoma District as well as to Northern Ontario and Toronto.

PUC Telecom Inc. met with City Council this afternoon, Friday, August 26, 2011 to discuss the sale of the telecommunication assets of PUC Telecom Inc. to Ontera.

Council has given approval for PUC Telecom to sell it’s assets to Ontera subject to the parties concluding a Purchase and Sale Agreement and authorize PUC Telecom to continue negotiations with Ontera.

Further information will be provided once an agreement is concluded.
