************************* Donald Bothwell homicide investigation - $50,000 reward offered

KAPUSKASING, ON - Today, August 22, 2011, marks the second year of the date of Donald Bothwell’s murder.

The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a reward in the amount of 50 thousand dollars ($50,000) for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person and/or persons responsible for the murder of Donald Bothwell [shown].

On the afternoon of Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 1 p..m, Bothwell was found sitting in the driver's seat of his Blue Bird taxi cab, the victim of an apparent robbery.

He was 59 years-old at the time of his death.

The vehicle was found on Gurney Road, an isolated gravel road not far from the Town of Kapuskasing.

Don Bothwell lived in Opasatika and enjoyed driving cab for BlueBird Taxi in Kapuskasing.

Bothwell was last seen driving his taxi at approximately 4 a.m. that morning.

Any person having information regarding the person(s) responsible for this murder should immediately contact Kapuskasing OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may also be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.

The homicide investigation is being conducted by the Kapuskasing Crime Unit and the Northeast Region Criminal Operations Program, under the direction of Detective Inspector Greg Walton, Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), OPP General Headquarters, Orillia.
