**************************** Motor vehicle-pedestrian collision

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigated a motor vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Bingham St and Queen St. E.

It is alleged that the driver of the motor vehicle was operating a hand held communication device when he struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

Drew Ralsanen, age 24, of 109 Lapish Rd, Echo Bay Ontario, has been charged with one count of drive while operating a hand held communication device and one count of failing to yield to pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act.
