City Police advise SooToday.com that an emergency meeting is being convened to organize a co-ordinated response from community agencies and services on the local water situation.

Police advise SooToday.com as of 4 p.m. that the local water is not contaminated and is safe to drink.

But PUC Services Inc. has ordered us to stop using it because of pumping problems.

Dominic Parrella, vice president of operations and engineering, advises SooToday.com that a valve at the main PUC booster station failed early this morning, preventing water from being pumped to the reservoir at the north end of People's Road.

If that reservoir is drained, water will not be available to all addresses above the hill.

SooToday.com will post all further notices regarding this situation issued through the long weekend.

The following emergency water notices were issued today by PUC Services Inc. ************************* 3 p.m. update
