RCMP seize counterfeit clothing at Sault store

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (July 17, 2009) - On Friday July 17, 2009, members from the Sault Ste. Marie Royal Canadian Mounted Police executed a search warrant at Rick's Outlet located inside the Market Mall, 275 Second Line West, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Police seized a large quantity of counterfeit clothing consisting of such brand names as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Harley Davidson, Orange County Choppers, Playboy, Fox, Billabong, John Deere, Tap Out, Nike, Quicksilver and Renegade.

The estimated value of the seizure is in excess of $17,000.

Richard Wrona aka Richard Desjardins is charged under Sections 412 and 380 of the Criminal Code of Canada, for the offences of passing off wares that are false, and fraud.

Wrona is scheduled to appear in Sault Ste. Marie Provincial Court on July 27, 2009.
