By a vote of 218-212, the U.S. House of Representatives today passed a spending bill that sets a firm deadline of August 31, 2008 for American troops to leave Iraq.
President Bush has said he'll veto the bill.
The president is to make a televised statement at 1:45 p.m.
In other news, Iran today seized 15 British sailors and marines who'd boarded a merchant ship in Iraqi waters.
Britain is protested the detentions.
