Stokely Creek gets a new owner

Stokely Creek Lodge & Ski Touring Centre has been sold to Swiss concerns. The sale was confirmed to SooToday.com by Jesse Martin, a spokesperson for the ski operation , located 25 minutes north of Sault Ste. Marie.

The sale was confirmed to SooToday.com by Jesse Martin, a spokesperson for the ski operation, located 25 minutes north of Sault Ste. Marie.

In April, the new owner and current operators will begin meeting to facilitate the changeover, Martin said.

No additional information is available at this time.

Martin said skiing will continue without changes or interruption until the season's planned last day on March 18.

He added that trails are in perfect condition and skiers are invited to sign up for Stokely's Wabos Loppet on March 17.

Stokely Creek Lodge & Ski Touring Centre is currently owned by American interests and employs 32 seasonal workers.

The facilty has also accommodated conferences and special events.
