Red Auerbach, the legendary Boston Celtics basketball coach, is dead.
Auerbach died today of a heart attack at his home in Washington at the age of 89.
He led his Celtics to nine NBA championships in the 1950s and the 1960s, and also served as the club's general manager and president.
He was chairman of the Red Auerbach Youth Foundation and continued working with youngsters until his death.
