The wolf that attacked a half-dozen people earlier this week at Katherine's Cove in Lake Superior Provincial Park has tested negative for rabies, the Algoma Health Unit announced today.

The health unit released the following statement:

********************* The Algoma Health Unit has received the test results from the black wolf who attacked six people at Katherine's Cove.

Results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirm the wolf was negative for rabies.

Katherine's Cove is located 70 kilometres south of Wawa and is a popular tourist attraction area with its sandy beaches.
