A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Darren Scott McInenly, an Ottawa-area biker with connections to Sault Ste. Marie.

McInenly (shown), 29, is wanted on first-degree murder charges connected to the shooting death of Michael Rankin in Kanata, Ontario on September 20.

Police sources tell SooToday News that the heavily muscled 6 foot, 3 inch man has connections to the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, with whom his plug-running territory is said to extend from Ottawa to Wasaga Beach and as far as Sault Ste. Marie.

Police have no specific evidence that he's headed our way. In fact, their best bet right now is that McInenly's in the Toronto area.

But they've asked SooToday to post the following release:

********************************************************************* CANADA WIDE WARRANT FOR MURDER SUSPECT

On September 28, 2002 the Major Crime Section investigators obtained a Canada wide warrant for first-degree murder for Darren Scott McInenly, 29 years of age, most recently of Kars, Ontario and previously of Kanata.

McInenly is described as being 6' 3", 240 lbs, muscular, numerous tattoos, and is presently sporting a bleached blond crew cut.

The warrant is in relation to the murder of Michael Rankin on the 20th of September 2002 at 65 Stonemeadow in Kanata.

The Warrant alleges the offence of Murder in the 1st Degree.

Recent information is that he may possibly be in the Toronto area, but he also has ties to the areas of Niagara Falls and the southern Ontario region, as well as the northern region of Ontario up to Sault Ste. Marie.

Presently his whereabouts are unknown at this time.

He may be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crime office of the Ottawa Police Service and/or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-TIPS (8477).

******************************************************************* Rankin died after he was shot in the back of the head.

CBC Ottawa reported shortly after the murder that at least three other people are believed to have been in the house at the time and that investigators questioned them.

Neighbours were quoted as saying that police had been called to the house several times in the past regarding noise and other complaints.

Another man, Wahab Dadshani, has been taken into custody and is charged with first-degree murder in the Rankin case.
