Driver in fatal motor vehicle collision charged

As a result of the investigation into the fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on the 25th of July 2015 at the intersection of Black Rd. and Second Line E., the driver of the blue GMC pickup has been charged with Fail to Yield-Yield Sign, contrary to section 138(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

On the 25th of July 2015 at approximately 1 p.mm, Police received a call with regards to a vehicle collision with injuries near the intersection of Second Line and Black Rd. involving a motorcycle. 

As a result of the collision, the 61-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital by ambulance where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates the Honda motorcycle was southbound on Black Rd., when a blue GMC pickup driven by an 87-year-old male turned northbound from Second Line into the path of the motorcycle.

Officers from Traffic, Investigation, Forensic  and Patrol Services are involved in the ongoing investigation.

At the request of the family, the name of the victim will not be released at this time.
