Noise complaints lead to multiple charges

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has been receiving numerous complaints regarding increased noise and vehicular traffic at the north end of Old Goulais Bay Road.

During the evening hours of May 23 patrol officers checked several vehicles in this area.

As a result of these vehicle checks officers arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth with Possession of a Controlled Drug.

The youth was found in possession of marijuana.

The young person will appear in court on June 23.  

Additionally five provincial offense tickets were issued to drivers of motor vehicles that were checked in the area.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is committed to reducing the complaints from this area.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the Police Service.
