Public feedback requested for accessible transit services

SAULT STE. MARIE - Sault Ste. Marie Transit Services is hosting a public consultation meeting to gather feedback for the City of Sault Ste. Marie Transit Accessibility Plan.

The public meeting will be held as follows:

Thursday, June 4, 2015 – 2 to 4 p.m.

Accessibility office – John Rhodes Community Centre, 260 Elizabeth Street

The Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (Section 41) requires transportation service providers to hold at least one annual public meeting to enable people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a review of their Accessibility Plan.

The City’s five-year Transit Accessibility Plan for 2011-2016 focuses on matters such as bus stops and shelters, hours of service, fare parity and technical requirements.

Transit Services welcomes community input to further improve upon accessibility in public transportation.

For more information, please contact the Sault Transit office at 705-759-5438 or email [email protected].
