STARTUP SAULT STE MARIE

*************************
Startup Sault Ste. Marie announced today that Startup Canada Co-Founder and CEO Victoria Lennox is in Sault Ste. Marie to meet with Startup Sault community partners and tour various locations such as the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre business incubator and Mill Square.

Community Enterprise Partners are stakeholders in the community that provide support, resources, training, mentorship, space, events and money to entrepreneurs in the community, support Startup Sault and its initiatives and participate in and promote ‘Startup Community’ events.

“We are excited to have Victoria in Sault Ste. Marie to meet with our community partners and to see some of our startups in person”, said Nevin Buconjic, Startup Sault Founder and Community Lead. “As one of only 20 startup communities across Canada, Startup Sault is working to build a knowledgeable and supportive entrepreneurial community, with the help of Startup Canada and our community partners.”

Ms. Lennox will also be speaking to first year business students at Sault College about entrepreneurship and how Startup Canada is connecting entrepreneurs across the country to strengthen Canada’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and help fuel a culture of entrepreneurship.

In just two short years, Startup Canada has grown to become the leading entrepreneurship organization in Canada with more than 85,000 entrepreneurs, 400 partners and 300 volunteers.

This volunteer organization is helping to launch local startup communities like Startup Sault in cities and towns across Canada and connect them online to one another to build Canada’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
