Mayor Provenzano thanks Christmas Cheer volunteers

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) Mayor Christian Provenzano would like to thank the volunteers of the 2014 Christmas Cheer program for their collective efforts in making Christmas a brighter place in our community.

Local volunteers spent 32,870 hours helping administer, collect, assemble, and distribute donated materials for families in need.

Those volunteer hours resulted in 1,581 families receiving Christmas Cheer baskets which included food, toys, clothes and various other gifts to a total of 3,791 members of the community.

Special appreciation is extended to Diane Marshall, Christmas Cheer coordinator, for all of her hard work and dedication.

“On behalf of the City of Sault Ste. Marie, thank you to everyone who was involved in this year’s very important Christmas Cheer effort. You have demonstrated a deep and important care for your neighbours and you have set a great example for others in our community. Thank you,” concluded Mayor Provenzano.
