The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) today announced Ian Plumley as SSMIC’s Lottery and Gaming Business Lead to facilitate growth of the lottery and gaming sector locally.

With ongoing growth in the lottery and gaming sector in Sault Ste. Marie, the Lottery and Gaming Business Lead position was developed to coordinate community efforts in growing these sectors by working with industry partners to pursue opportunities.
 
In this role, Ian will support businesses focused on emerging lottery and gaming sectors and charitable gaming initiatives, and will provide project support to build or expand the industry in Sault Ste. Marie.

Marie possesses unique strengths and a supportive business environment that can contribute to the success of lottery and gaming companies,” said Tom Vair, executive director, SSMIC. “We welcome Ian to our organization and know that his experience and knowledge will help to advance our efforts to expand our lottery and gaming sector.”

The position exists to facilitate communication between existing and potential partners, cultivate prospects internationally and promote and market regional strengths.  
 
Ian brings over 25 years of Lottery and Gaming sector experience to the role through his work as a market strategy consultant and with startups in gaming technology.

Ian has led major market initiatives at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and has in-depth knowledge of the gaming market and development activities.

Ian graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Economics.
