The weather alert says folks in our area can expect rainfall combined with snow melt that could result in some localized flooding.

For people living in the Bar River area that's probably a bit of 'No sh** - Sherlock' news.

The Bar River is very high and now spilling over some roads.

Based on Environment Canada's alert, things could get a whole lot worse for folks living in Bar River tonight.

"Some localities near Sault Ste Marie and Northeastern Ontario have reported amounts ranging from 20 to 35 mm [of rain] so far,' says Environment Canada.

Another 10 to 20 mm of rain and a significant drop in temperatures are possible this afternoon and early evening, the alert says.

Meanwhile, some houses between Bar River and highway 17 are already surrounded by fields which are now lakes.
