Sault Area Hospital and Sault College Employment Solutions will be hosting a Healthcare Career Night on November 6 from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Hospital Lobby and Auditorium.

The event is targeted towards local high school students and their parents and is intended to provide information about various careers in the healthcare sector that are expected to be in demand in our local and regional labour market.

Attendees will hear presentations from representatives from the hospital on the following subjects:

clinical positions such as Registered Nurse, Registered Practical Nurse, and Personal Support Worker; allied health professionals such as Lab Technician, Pharmacist, and Physiotherapist; opportunities in administration such as Clerical, Human Resources, Finance and IT; and career paths and opportunities including options for Physicians.

Speakers include Ila Watson, Lori Bertrand, Kierston Miron, Kelli Ann Lemieux, Kim Lemay, and Dr. John Beduhn.

Each will deliver a 10-15 minute presentation to be followed by a brief question and answer period from the audience.

Representatives from Sault College and Algoma University will also be available to answer questions related to local training and education options.

The event will be held in the Lobby and Auditorium at the main entrance to the Sault Area Hospital.

Information gathering and networking will begin at 6, and the formal presentations run from 6:45-9 p.m.

Parking tokens will be provided to all attendees.

Prize draws will include the chance to win an Apple iPad Mini.
