A day has been set aside early next year for a pretrial for the three men charged in the 2011 murder and dismemberment of Wesley Hallam.

A judge of the Superior Court of Justice is slated to meet with the prosecution and defence lawyers Jan. 15 at the Sault Ste. Marie  courthouse.

The date for the pretrial conference was set Wednesday when Crown attorney Bill Johnson and one of the defence lawyers Bruce Willson appeared before Justice Ian McMillan.

Ronald Mitchell, Eric Mearow and Dylan Jocko face charges of first degree murder.

Hallam, 29, was killed between Jan. 7 and 9, 2011 at a house party at a downtown residence, city police say.

His decapitated and dismembered body was found Jan. 11 near Landslide Road.
