Ontario's universities to visit local high schools

This free event offers high school students from the surrounding area, and their parents, the opportunity to speak in-person with multiple university representatives.

The UIP offers students who are considering an Ontario university the opportunity to learn more about admission requirements, scholarships, residence, the application process, campus life, and much more.

The event is designed to assist graduating high school students with making an informed decision before they apply to university in January 2015.

The event is also aimed at assisting younger students with high school course selections in order to guide them in choosing future university programs.

Students and their parents will have the chance to attend a fair- (F) or presentation-style (P) session, held in the school’s gymnasium.

Fair-style sessions allow students and parents the opportunity to visit each Ontario university representative individually.

Presentation-style sessions consist of three 30-minute university presentations, followed by a question and answer period.

After the presentations, students can attend a “roam-around” session where they can visit each Ontario university representative individually.

Students who are interested in attending are encouraged to confirm the UIP schedule in their area with their guidance office.

The UIP is hosted exclusively by Ontario universities. Each university participates in joint visits to high schools across the province each fall.

The event is organized by the Standing Committee on Secondary School Liaison and the Ontario University Registrars’ Association.
