Special weather statement in effect for: Agawa - Lake Superior Park - Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island - Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay

Significant rainfall potential Friday night into Saturday.

A complex low pressure system over the Southern Plains States will track northeastward to reach the Upper Great Lakes Saturday.

Showers, at times heavy, are expected to develop ahead of the low late Friday and then continue into Saturday.

Thunderstorms are also possible during this period.

Although it is too soon to determine the exact location of the heavier rainfall, some places could see local amounts in the 40 to 80 mm range by midday Saturday.

Environment Canada will monitor this situation closely.
