*************************
Early this morning a water main broke on Pine Street opposite the Sault Armory.

As a result, customers in the area have had their water services interrupted.

PUC emergency crews were dispatched early this morning and have started repairs.

During the repair process, Pine Street between Ontario Avenue and Breton Road will be closed to all traffic while crews conduct repairs.

The streets affected by the road closure are:

  • Pine Street
  • Ontario Avenue
  • Breton Road

This traffic restriction is necessary to ensure the safety of repair crews as well as the travelling public.

Next they will have their wallets interrupted.
How much will the PUC be "over budget" when the fat lady sings?
1 million?, two million??

What do you expect? Theses are the same people who build a “state of the art water treatment plant” and apparently lack anyone in there employee base with the necessary skill set to operate it.

I love how they have to skim crap from the place then truck it off god knows where. We might as well be living in the dark ages. We could have saved millions if we all just put a bucket at the curb for the honey wagon to pick-up each day. Cut out the middleman.

What is the PUC here like Walkerton a bunch of grade 8 drop outs employed by there Uncle? Oh salmonella lets dump more chlorine in the water.

soooo.....if the water main broke early this morning.....why was PUC putting up signs yesterday afternoon!!!! Seems maybe they were expecting this to happen???? Everything was fine early this morning when I drove through on my way to work!!! (just saying)

I seen the "road closed" sign early this morning. I guess once you read the sign, you're on your own. Should there be detour signs to help traffic flow. I seen cars back up, turn right, turn back and even a few people driving through the road closed sign.
I've been back since and there doesn't seem to be any urgency whatsoever that one of the main arteries has just been shut down and not much has been done yet!!! I guess they're still planning. Brace yourself folks!! It looks like it's going to take a while
