Do you know who this is?

Tuesday, March 11, 2014   by: Staff

On February 22, 2014 at 14:15, a male suspect was observed at Wal-Mart with a cart full of groceries, a duvet and some work out equipment.

The male suspect went behind the checkouts, towards the washroom, and then exited the store without paying.

The suspect was last seen loading the merchandise into an older white Nissan pick up truck before leaving the property.

Crime Stoppers needs your help in identifying this individual so that the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service can personally notify him that shopping at Wal-Mart is not free.

The employees at Wal Mart aren't properly trained. You ask a question they can't answer you or even try too find an answer for you. Good for that guy!! Walmart should have security guards that are trained in this area, not old ladies or men. As an employee of the company they should know everything is or try and find out. That is what good customer service is!!!!!
Lleoy 3/11/2014 9:03:53 PM Report

I think Walmart gets what they pay for, crap pay, for crap employee moral.
Gurpy 3/11/2014 9:11:29 PM Report

There is no way he could`ve walked out without paying! The alarms sound upon exiting the store even when you do pay! I don`t buy it!
jojoe71 3/11/2014 9:26:36 PM Report

I smell something rotten in Denmark. Sounds like a B movie to me. Is it that easy to just walk out. Did they say have a good day as he left? Didn't anyone notice that nothing was bagged. He's obviously not known to the local police. Great face shot there.
warwitch 3/11/2014 11:52:22 PM Report

Yes it would be that easy. There are no door greeters at the door any more. This happens more than people think. As for customer service, that happens in every store in this town, not just Walmart.
Gater 3/12/2014 8:09:42 AM Report

Walmart is trying to hire robots to work there. They are having trouble finding one that will work that cheap.
Yep you get what you pay for...
Right Winger 3/12/2014 8:53:31 AM Report

Actually I think this can be combatted by the elimination of the bag charge. I see plenty of people that don't want to pay the nickel for a bag at checkout just loading their groceries back in the cart and heading out to the car. Seeing an individual without bags does not look out of place. This seems to be happening often. I have seen store security at other places stopping people at the door a few times.
Daiv 3/12/2014 9:27:56 AM Report

Yo don't pay for bags at Walmart.
The fact that the alarm thing goes off all the time actually makes it easier for people to shoplift. Everybody just ignores it now.
I hardly ever see greeters anymore, and when I do, they don't usually say hello.
It used to be 'Welcome to Walmart' now you're lucky if you get a smile.

The fact that Walmart pays crap does not give somebody else the right to steal.

Once again, blame is being cast where it doesn't belong.

A crime was committed. When somebody gets caught stealing from the grocery store, everybody comments on what a loser, scum bag, etc. said person is. Why is this different?
sinikka 3/12/2014 9:54:19 AM Report

it isn't different daiv. Some of the commenters here are no better than the ones who show up on police beat everyday. As matter of fact some might be the same people.

Finally a clear un-fuzzy face shot. Someone who knows him will turn him in for a nickel.
What's CrimeStopper's pay out now?
LillyGirl 3/12/2014 11:22:15 AM Report

a friend works at Walmart and says the alarms only go off on electronics and items that are expensive. Very few items sound off the alarms.
Battler213 3/12/2014 11:42:27 AM Report

That's the problem with everyone. They say Walmart pays crap? You're bagging items. Or stocking items. Do you honestly think that's worth $26/hr? They get $11-$17. I think that is relatively fair.

Typical Sault mentality. Don't want to work, but still get paid big bucks.
jinjin 3/12/2014 1:36:13 PM Report

502 error on the picture.

Did that guy steal his pic off Sootoday ??
canadiens_8 3/12/2014 3:54:35 PM Report

I am amazed at the amount of people in this town that defend criminals. Weed is illegal-crap on the cops for busting them and wasted taxes. And this, stealing which is illegal and then blaming the company. So "asp" you are saying that this guy stole simply because he didn't get the answer he was hoping for? Give me a break. A criminal is a criminal...don't go blaming everyone else. Its the law not to steal and we all know it. No excuse to break that law.
canadiens_8 3/12/2014 3:58:49 PM Report

Right Winger ...bag charge? If you can not afford 5 damn cents for a bag, then you have issues. Even welfare (no disrespect to them) recipients can afford 5 cents for a bag. And it is a matter of not wanting to.....same thing. Issues. Do you really think that 5 cents for a bag got dropped that everything else in the store will drop in price too? Won't happen.
