Sault Area Hospital Welcomes the First Baby of 2014
SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (January 2, 2014) – Sault Area Hospital (SAH) welcomes the first baby of 2014!
A baby girl, Breleigh Everett Best entered the world on January 1 at 3:19 am, weighing 9 pounds and measuring 20 inches long.
Congratulations to proud parents, Sarah and Paul Best who also have two other daughters – Jayla, 5 and Madelyn, 3. Sarah and Paul, originally from Sault Ste. Marie, are both teachers at St. Basil’s elementary school in White River.
The Best family has been in the Sault for the last six weeks, awaiting the birth of their daughter.
Sarah, whose pregnancy was considered high risk, is relieved and grateful for the safe delivery of her new baby girl.
“I would have never imagined that I would have the first baby of 2014,” she says. “I was just focused on having a healthy baby and I’m thankful to my SAH care providers for the safe delivery of Breleigh.”
Breleigh is named after the daughter of Brett Favre, the former NFL Green Bay Packers quarterback.
“My husband and I had a bet. If our baby was another girl, we would name her after Brett Favre’s daughter.”
The Best family wishes to thank the SAH Maternity Unit staff, the hospital’s Foundation and community organizations for their generous donation of a gift basket and two gift bags full of many wonderful baby items.
