Appeal for witnesses from Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

Officers from Traffic Services are continuing to investigate the fatality that occurred on Saturday, August 31 on McNabb Street at Algoma Avenue shortly after 7 p.m.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the cyclist in the hours preceding the collision.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is releasing a photo of Christa (Lukenda) Michaud.

At the time of the collision the victim was wearing shorts and a black tank top which are similar to the clothing she is wearing in the attached photo.

She was also wearing black and pink flip flops, sunglasses and a grey backpack.

Anyone who may have seen the victim in the hours preceding the collision is asked to contact Traffic Services at 705-949-6300 extension 383.
