Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame Committee announces 2013 inductee

SAULT STE. MARIE - The Sault Ste. Marie Sports Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce this year’s inductee – Team Brad Jacobs – Curling.

Mayor Debbie Amaroso will host the 2013 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Russ Ramsay Board Room, Civic Centre.

The media is invited to take photos and conduct interviews between 6:30 and 7 p.m.

Community admission to this event is by invitation only.

Another part of this honour should include a sign erected on both the north and east highways with these accomplishments on it and the individual names of the team members. I find this city lacks in this area . These people deserve this additional honour .They have brought great recognition to this city as well as great pride.

Something as awesome as this, makes me proud to say I'm from Sault Ste. Marie. Perhaps I may in the future become a fan of curling. It's not hockey, but at least it's played on ice :-) And yes, that is a fabulous team picture. And I also agree with one poster who mentioned their picture should be erected at each of the entrances of the Soo. Ms. Roberta Bondar has signs for her, and if I'm not mistaken, even the Hounds have signs posted, maybe I'm wrong on that, I don't know...it's been awhile since I've been home. But still, the Soo is home, no matter where I am. Love the Soo, just not some of the people.
