Should tap water be this colour?

Mayor Amaroso, members of Council and SSM PUC;

Attached is a photo containing three bottles of water.

Two are commercially produced, sealed bottles of water and the third was just drawn from my tap today (3 p.m., April 25, 2013).

Please take a few minutes to carefully study the three bottles and tell me which one you might assume is the pure, filtered and purified water available to the customers of the Sault Ste Marie PUC.

If you'd like I can re-photograph them in a different order so you can be assured of your choice.

Back more than a year ago while taxpayers were in the midst of complaining about brown water and the new PUC building they were being burdened with, I jumped into the fray with additional concerns over PUC use of consumers' money that was earmarked for services rendered.

The $100,000 donation to Algoma University I initially complained about ballooned to over $200,000 when all previous donations were taken into consideration with one particular councilor who also sits on the PUC board of directors saying if they'd known there was going to be such a ruckus there should have been no public announcement of the donation.

I was blown away with this televised comment at a council meeting, wondering if the public doesn't react to such an attitude, maybe we deserve what we get.

Today, here we are with the same brown water, the same nonchalant council which approved the millions for new the PUC headquarters with an 8-5 vote without knowing what control if any they had over the PUC hierarchy and nothing learned.

If things were reversed and the commercial water was the one with the obnoxious tint I'd have the opportunity of changing brand.

Under these conditions what choice do the taxpayers of Sault Ste Marie have?

Fire them?
