Toronto resident wins lottery prize

Prize claim subject to Insider Win process

TORONTO (September 24, 2012) - Desmond Suico of Toronto is one step closer to claiming his lottery win of $3,336,622.50 from the Lotto 649 draw on August 29, 2012.

As Suico's daughter is employed at a lottery retail location, this prize falls within OLG's definition of a Related Party/Insider Win.

As of today's date, this prize claim has completed the first two steps of a three-step Insider Wins process.

Under this process, the prize claim was reviewed by OLG, and independently through the province's lottery regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

To complete the prize claim, the prize will be held for a 30-day waiting period as part of OLG's Insider Wins process, in order for OLG to publicize the win.

If there are no additional claims on this prize, it will be paid to the claimant on October 22, 2012, based on this 30-day wait period.

The ticket was purchased at Variety Plus on Bathurst Street in Toronto.

OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities.

Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $34 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario.

Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
