NEWS RELEASE
David Jahn, WMH Chief Executive Officer, said the purchase was finalized last Friday and the hospital assumed responsibility for clinic operations immediately.
“In recent years, War Memorial has sought to expand services in the outlying communities in the region. The addition of Kinross means greater convenience for our patients and more access to care for those currently without a primary care provider,” he explained. In addition to this new clinic, WMH also offers services in DeTour Village, Drummond Island, and Cedarville.
While the name of the facility will change to WMH Community Care – Kinross, the hours of operation and providers will remain the same. The site is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 7pm, serving a combination of scheduled appointments and walk-in needs.
Catherine Harris, M.D., and Brenda Buchannan, Nurse Practitioner, are the primary providers at the facility. Dr. Scott Aldridge is the medical director for this and other WMH satellite locations.
Mike Fitzner, Director of Clinic Business Operations at WMH, said the hospital is exploring options to bring a number of other services to the Kinross location in the future.
He also spoke of what patients can expect from this newest addition to the WMH family.
“War Memorial’s top priorities are patient satisfaction and high-level care. We will bring the same commitment to those priorities to Kinross,” Fitzner said.
