The young gentleman about to get a smooch from the Salty Mollies' Gretta Bomb is the burlesque troupe's newest member, Patrick Legacy, AKA Spark Mandrill.

The 24-year-old made his much-anticipated debut last evening at Loplops Gallery-Lounge after he was selected by the ladies from a vast roster of new Molly hopefuls during auditions earlier this year.

Legacy told SooToday.com he was encouraged to audition after he met the Mollies at a recent gig.

They were apparently impressed by his silly nature and animated dance moves.

He's not shy at all about being the Sault's first-ever 'boylesque' performer, telling us: "It feels surreal, if anything. But I've been taking my clothes off for a long time."

No, he's not a male stripper by trade.

But he did explain that statement with a long tale that involved a child's ninja costume, a group of friends at Thanksgiving, Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone, and a strip tease.

"I just like doing anything that gets me attention," he explained.

Legacy described his Spark Mandrill character as "the sexy doofus", a bit of a toy for the other Salty Mollies with a somewhat naughty side.

He was joined on stage last night by the other Mollies - Miss Kitty Kokonuts, Alexis au Lait, and Gretta Bomb - who helped ease him into the spotlight.

The evening also featured a few sets of swampy roots blues music from Miss Quincy and the Showdown.
