City Police officers, enroute to a call for service to the city’s west end involving the possible use of bear mace, conducted a traffic stop when they observed a vehicle matching the description given by the complainant.

The officers investigating identified one of the occupants as 19 year old Tyler Wood of 189 Spadina Ave.

CPIC revealed an outstanding warrant for assault and administer noxious substance.

The accused was arrested and transported to the station.

The officers continued their investigation with the original complainant who soon identified a Brandon Weston as the person who had threatened him with bear mace.

Weston was the driver of the car they had stopped earlier while enroute to the bear mace call.

Officers were later able to arrest 20 year old Brandon Weston of 84 Spadina with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

Additionally, a new charge of weapons dangerous arising from the latest circumstances was laid on Tyler Wood. 

Mr. Wood and Mr. Weston will appear in bail court on May 31, 2012.
