Donna Summer, the renowned Queen of Disco, reportedly died today after losing her battle with cancer.
Widely known for her hits Hot Stuff, Bad Girls, She Works Hard For The Money, I Feel Love, and Love To Love You Baby, the five-time Grammy Award winner was the first African American woman to be nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.
Summer was the first recording artist to ever chart three consecutive No.1 double albums, and she placed a Top 40 single on Billboard's Hot 100 list every year from 1976 though 1984.
She was inducted twice into the Dance Music Hall of fame, first as an artist and again for her influencial single I Feel Love.
Summer been nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame four times between 2008 and 2012, but has yet to make the final inductee list.
The NAACP recognized Summer with a Image Award for Outstanding Recording Artist in 1980.
After 17 studio recordings between 1974 and 2008, Summer was reportedly working on material for a new dance album prior to her death.
Summer was 63 years old.
