Federal Members of Parliament will be voting on a motion regarding the establishment of a committee to determine when human life begins.

Sault MP Bryan Hayes wants constituents to offer their views on the matter before the vote.

The motion (M-312) proposes no change to any law, Hayes states in a news release.

“It merely proposes a study of evidence related to Canada’s 400-year-old definition of a human
being.”

Hayes says he believes constituents should have a direct say in how he votes on the "emotionally charged" question.

“The nature of my job dictates that I have to make a lot of decisions based on my judgement of
what will best serve my constituents. I do, however, prefer to consult with my
constituents on significant issues."

View can be presented through an online survey on Hayes’ website.
