How do you spell that, again? Oopsies

SooToday.com has received a letter from a loyal - and, apparently, observant - reader who says she wrote to the Board of Works and mayor. Ever the curious news source we decided to go check out what Sue was talking about in her letter.

Ever the curious news source we decided to go check out what Sue was talking about in her letter.

Sure enough, we found Cheshire Rd. spelled wrong.

Lloyd St. was, indeed spelled Llyod St. on the Johnson Avenue end and on the Churchill Avenue end of the street.

Just in case that is how the street name is supposed to be spelled we looked it up on Google maps.

It shows Lloyd Street as parallel to People's Road and goes from Johnson Avenue to Churchill Avenue.

Lloyd Street. Not Llyod Street.

And that's the street we were on.

We, like Sue, are wondering if there are other signs spelled wrong in the city.

If you know of any, please post their names (with the incorrect and correct spelling) and locations in the comments section below.

Hello gentlemen and Madam Mayor Amaroso,

I would like to bring to your attention an issue that I discovered with regards to the "new" street signage that has been recently implemented on various streets.

I noticed at least two errors in spelling of street names.

One of the signs was on the "Cheshire Rd." sign, ( the "h" was omitted), corner of Cheshire and Murton Avenue and the other one I noticed was on "Lloyd St." (Lloyd was spelled Llyod - signs on both ends of that street).

These are only two errors that I noticed and only in a two block radius so I can only speculate that there are more in the city.

Being a taxpayer myself, I have a valid reason to question these errors as, in my opinion, there is no excuse for them.

These are taxpayer dollars that are being spent, therefore the utmost attention to detail should be given.

These new signs should have been proofread before going into production.

I would like an explanation as to why these errors occurred and what actions will be taken in the future to avoid these mistakes.

Thank you !

- Sue Famiglietti
