Another loyal SooToday.com reader wrote to us to say she believed the owl in the picture is the same owl that tried to grab and fly off with one of her small dogs.

She wrote to warn other pet owners to keep an eye out for their small pets.

SooToday.com thought that was rather odd behavior for an owl in good health and our suspicions were confirmed by the Nicholsons a short time ago.

"Our owl friend (a Great horned owl) stayed around our backyard most of the day," wrote Ruth and David. "When a wildlife photographer came to take pictures, he could see the owl had been injured."

"The Human Society came, caught him and will get him to the veterinarian tomorrow so he will be well looked after and kept safe until he is strong again," they said.

SooToday.com has received the following note and photos shown from other loyal readers who are enjoying the presence of an unusual visitor:

*************************
This owl is currently sitting on our deck at 128 Churchill Blvd.

He has been there for a couple of hours.

The crows are going crazy and trying to scare him away but when they dive bomb him he just ducks!

The photographer is David Nicholson.

In the one photo, Ruth Nicholson is the one watching the owl out the window.

Thought you might be able to use this.
