This letter goes out to some very special people. Something wonderful happens here in the Soo.

During the holidays it is very visible, although if you look you can see it any time.

I would like to give a many blessed thanks to all the volunteers that help support the well being of our community.

The countless hours, the thoughtful donations, it has an unimaginable impact.

For many families Christmas would not be joyous or festive if not for Christmas Cheer.

To the individuals and companies that open their hearts and wallets and generously give to places such as Women in Crisis, Pauleens Place, Phoenix Rising, The Pregnancy Center, The Soup Kitchen, St Vincent’s and others of the like, I give my gratitude.

You make the hard times for some just a little easier.

Just knowing that a stranger cares sometimes can be enough to bring light into a dark place.

For all that is right or wrong in the world somehow here in this northern town I have seen an abundance of goodwill that is unmatched by any other place I’ve lived.

So to all my neighbours the extend themselves and give freely and I feel I can speak for all those whom receives the labours of your effort,thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

May good health and many good times be yours in the new year and many years to follow.
