The Ministry of Government Services issued a news release today about something called the Newborn Registration Service.

It lets parents register their newborn's birth and name online.

Mom and dad can also use it to apply for their child's birth certificate, Social Insurance Number and Canada Child Benefits, including the Ontario Child Benefit.

The release included the following list of favourite names for 2011 arrivals.

The choices are listed in order, starting with the most preferred.
