House fire on Albert Street East (photos, video)

Traffic on Albert Street East between Bruce and Elgin was  blocked for a few hours late this afternoon.

The detour was to allow fire crews to contain and put out a house fire on the 300-block of Albert Street East near Lou's Automotive.

Several who were in the area of the house when the fire was at its height said they could feel the heat from inside their vehicles.

Others report hearing an explosion in the area, presumed to be from the fire late this afternoon.
