City searches for Christmas 'wow' factor

Nominations invited for Christmas Lighting Awards

SAULT STE. MARIE - Nominations for the 12th Annual Christmas Lighting Awards Program are now being accepted by the City Clerk’s Department - Level Four, Civic Centre.

This program encourages community pride and recognizes the efforts of residents who light up their homes and businesses in the spirit of the Christmas season.

There are two award categories - residential and business.

In the residential category, two winners per ward will be selected.

In the business category, three awards are presented citywide (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place).

Judging of the nominated properties will take place between Christmas and New Year’s and award plaques will be presented at a City Council meeting.

Submissions must include the civic address being nominated and the resident’s name.

The property owner or any resident can submit a nomination.

The deadline for submission is Thursday, December 22, 2011.

Nomination forms are available on the City’s website at www.cityssm.on.ca under Forms and Maps or from the City Clerk’s Department.

Completed nominations may be dropped off, faxed, mailed, or e-mailed to:
