Well if the answer is ‘yes’, then you are among the more fortunate. Not everyone has this opportunity!

Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, our focus shifts towards “Giving Tuesday”.

Giving Tuesday is the start of the giving season - when companies and individuals rally together to share their commitment towards helping those in need in their community.

When donating to United Way Sault Ste. Marie & district, all donations stay within our community and district.

United Way Sault Ste. Marie & district helps support more than 12000 individuals, families, seniors and youth through our three focus areas:

From Poverty to Possibility, All That Kids Can Be, and Strong Communities

The 2015 campaign goal is to raise funds to support 12,000 individuals.

Wendy lived in an abusive relationship for many years.

She always felt she had to stay, that she couldn’t survive on her own.

One day she realized she couldn’t survive at home either. She called the Telephone Crisis Line.

She found safe shelter at Women In Crisis.

Wendy is on her own now; she is gaining her confidence back and continues to receive ongoing support from the counsellors at Women In Crisis.

United Way Donors support the Telephone Crisis Line and Crisis Walk In Service at Women In Crisis.
