With the increased costs of tuition and post-secondary education, a few extra dollars could really help. 

Tell us about your money mistakes and you could win a grand prize of $5,000 to put towards your schooling.

As part of Credit Education Week Canada, Credit Counselling Services of Sault Ste. Marie and Credit Canada are calling on all grade 12 graduating students to share your story. 

In all there are 25 prizes ranging from $1,000 up to the $5,000 grand prize.  

In the past, the Sault has seen three prize winners of this nationwide essay contest and we are looking to keep this streak going.

If you are a student in grade 12 and planning to head off to post-secondary education next year, all you need to do is write a funny, original, and well thought out 1000 word essay addressing the dumbest thing you have ever done with your money and what you learned from it.

The deadline for submission is October 18, 2015.

Also, the CEWC is offering an adult essay contest open to all adults 18+. 

The topic is the same as the youth contest but the word limit is restricted to 300 words MAX. 

First place will win $3,000.
