Getting hammered at Home Depot

On Thursday, May 31, a group of Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area volunteers and staff gathered at Home Depot at 7AM to purchase the first paper hammers in the Buy a Hammer- Build Your Community campaign that Home Depot is sponsoring.

Every donation of $2 will go directly to the local affiliate and will help build the 7th house.  HFHSSMA is happy to receive this support from Home Depot in its efforts to provide safe, decent and affordable housing while promoting home ownership.

About Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie and Area:

Habitat for Humanity is an independent, non-profit housing program dedicated to building affordable homes in partnership with families. Homeowners contribute “sweat equity” volunteer hours and then repay a long term, interest free mortgage.  Since 2004, six families have partnered with HFHSSMA to build homes. These builds were possible with the generous support of many individuals, groups and businesses within the community.  Dozens of volunteers have contributed hundreds of hours of labour on each house.
