NORDIK INSTITUTE/ARTS COUNCIL

*************************
Please join us in celebrating the revealing of two new wall murals that have boosted youth’s creativity and contributed to beautifying the downtown.

The rear wall of Cases’ Music, 636 Queen St E, has been transformed into a music scape and 180 Projects’ latest addition features bold colours and a lovely design.

Located at 180 Gore Street, the building’s walls are dedicated to graffiti art.

The mural making is part of the Graffiti Reframed project, a collaboration between the Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie and District and NORDIK Institute, investigating whether building artistic capacity impacts youth’s opportunities for engagement and employment in the creative economy, fosters community pride, place-making and tourism opportunities.

Hear the youth’s experience with graffiti art and the mentoring process.
